About Sanderson Field 


Sanderson Field has been a part of Sault Ste. Marie since its opening in 1934.


Aircraft operations per year? 10,000. We provide hangars for local aircraft and serve as a destination to many others.

Emergency Services

The Sanderson Field runway expedites the transportation of patients in critical condition to major medical centers.


Our runway is frequently utilized by the Coast Guard, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the Army National Guard.

Gateway to the Sault

We are a point of arrival for those who visit the Sault -- tourists, businesspeople, and entertainers alike. Past passengers include Morgan Freeman and KISS. Bruce Springsteen is also a regular.
